Kathmandu. Four mass organizations of the fundamental class affiliated with the CPN (Maoist Centre) have expressed a serious objection to the bilateral trade agreement between China and India, which includes Lipulekh and gravely affects Nepal’s sovereignty. Today, the four mass organisations released a Joint press statement and made their views public.
In the joint press statament, signed by the chairpersons of four influential mass organisations of the CPN Maoist Centres – the All Nepal Peasants’ Federation (Revolutionary Centre), the All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF), the Nepal Dalit Liberation Front, and the All Nepal Squatters’ Association – have objected to the claim made by India’s Ministry of External Affairs that Lipulekh belongs to India, and questioned the silence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Minister of Foreign Affairs Arju Rana Deuba of the UML-Congress coalition gevenment, out of fear of affecting their proposed visit to India.
The four mass organisations have strongly condemned and denounced the national surrender of the UML and Nepali Congress, which have a black history of the anti-national Koshi, Gandaki, and Mahakali treaties, to sustain the current unnatural and unholy coalition government, they are ready to hand over the country’s territory to foreigners.
“The fact that the ruling CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress, as well as political parties that consider themselves new and others that consider themselves the guardians of nationalism, have not yet given any official and high-level reaction clearly, which shows the national surrender mindset of all of these political parties”, the statement quotes.
The four mass organisations say, “Lipulekh, Kalapani, and Limpiyadhura are inalienable territories of Nepal and there are abundant historical, legal, and geographical evidences”, and add that the agreement between India and China to use Lipulekh for their mutual interests, devaluing Nepal’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, is completely unacceptable to us.
“The act of the two neighboring countries interfering with, making treaties about, and using Nepali land without Nepal’s consent or permission has seriously undermined Nepal’s sovereign rights”, statement says, “We strongly oppose this step and demand that both neighboring countries revoke this agreement, which undermines the sovereignty of Nepal and its people, and that they resolve the issue through mutual understanding among all three nations.” They also urged both of the neighbouring nations to be mindful and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
The four mass organisations have strongly demanded that the Government of Nepal take decisive steps to get the said agreement canceled through immediate diplomatic initiatives to protect national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the glorious history of the people.
Furthermore, the mass organisations have also called upon the international community, patriotic and progressive forces, and the general Nepali people, including peasants, workers, Dalits, and squatters, to unite and stand firm in favour of national sovereignty against this kind of encroachment and the national surrender of the Oli government.
