Kathmandu. Comrade Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), emphasizing on the party discipline points that NCP leaders are becoming undisciplined and everyone is making statements without thinking of the consequences.
Former Prime Minister Prachanda said that the party had come so far because its leaders were disciplined.
Speaking at a programme on Friday, he mentioned, “We were very disciplined in the past. That was the reason we have reached the position we are in. But these days, no one cares about discipline.”
Chairman Prachanda, who led the Ten Years’ Great People’s War as the Supreme Commander of the Party and People’s Liberation Army (PLA), further added that in the past, the leadership as a group would make decisions and everyone would be responsible for such a decision. But now, an individual makes a decision, and the whole group has to take responsibility. This needs to be rectified, we cannot go on like this.”
Chairman Prachanda’s statement comes a day after NCP chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Nepal engaged in a verbal row.
Chairman Prachanda, who led the Communist Party for more than 3 decades as a party-chief, expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the present working style of his comrade-in-arms and party cadres and said that communists in Nepal are also taking up habits of royals.
He argued that if the situation were to continue, then the people will drive-away the same leaders who drove away monarchy; this was what happened in eastern Europe.
