Cuba is a country with a long history of struggle against colonialism and imperialism. Cuba is a land of Carlos Manual de Cespedes, who fought to liberate the Cuban Soil. Cuba is also the land of great hero Jose Marti, who envisioned the Cuban independence and sacrificed his life in the battlefield of struggle against Spanish colonialism.
Cuba is the land of Commandente Fidel Castro, the great hero of Cuban Revolution. He was not only the leader of the socialism in Cuba, but also an inspiration for the oppressed people and colonialized countries all over the world. He was a hero of global socialist and anti-imperialist movements and a ray of hope for the working class after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Cuba is the land of Che Guevara, who is still an immortal icon of the revolution globally.
Cuba is the land of revolution and independence. The socialist revolution in Cuba has liberated the Cuban people from the chains of exploitation and oppression. The construction of socialism has guaranteed the basic human rights of the Cuban people.
Cuba is leading the world in the education and medical sector, and provides excellent facilities to her people which the so-called developed countries of the world cannot deliver to their citizens. The Cuban agriculture is the ecological agriculture based on biodiversity, which is exemplary throughout the world. The advancement in science and technology is remarkable despite the obstruction by a prolonged blockade.
The unity of the people, people-based military policy and international solidarity are so unique and consolidated that the imperialist forces can not even dream of invading Cuba. No words can describe the contribution of the Cuban government and people in the revolutionary and liberation movement of Africa and Latin America and thereafter.
Nepalese people are still remembering the friendly help provided by the Cuban medical team at the time of devastating Earthquake of 2015.
Socialism is a system of majority of people. It is based on the collective interest of the human being. It has its golden future and a new level to achieve – that is communism.
As Lenin Said, the capitalism has reached its highest level – the stage of imperialism. It has no chance to progress ahead and there is no level to achieve more; how much colour it changes and how much forms it shapes.
As capitalism has seen its no future and cannot survive any fair competition with socialism, the imperialist forces try to obstruct the path of socialist construction by military interventions and invasion of the independent countries. If that’s not possible, they apply blockades and economic sanctions; for which they create a drama of Human Right Violation or other artificial issues. The multi-decade long sanctions and blockade against Cuba and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) are the live examples in front of us.
No matter, how much torture people had to pass through, how much economic and social loss people and these countries had to bear with, the people of Cuba and the DPRK did not surrender to the imperialism and failed them. The socialist governments of these countries tried their best to provide all the services and facilities to their people and proved the supremacy of socialism over profitmongering capitalism.
I was honoured to be invited and visit Cuba, in June 2019, and highly excited by witnessing the devotion of the Cuban people to defend and develop the political-ideology, unity and solidarity for the construction of socialism and to defeat imperialist intervention. I was deeply impressed by the unity of the revolutionary Cuban people.
I also witnessed the pain due to the blockade and its consequences. The blockade has violated the human rights of all the people in Cuba. There is a short supply of essential and medical goods due to this multi-decade long blockade.
No country deserves any right to obstruct the path of socialism and challenge the sovereignty of any other country. Sovereign people of any country deserve the right to choose their own political and governing system.
At this moment, I strongly denounce the illegitimate, immoral and unjustified imperialist blockade against the socialist Cuba and heartily salute the courage and deterrent spirit of the Cuban people to counter and defy them.
I also denounce the unilateral withdrawal of the US from the ‘Cuba-US Agreement’ and reject their attempt to implement Article III of the Helms-Burton Act to destroy the achievements of the triumph of revolution.
I demand with the Biden administration to immediately uplift the blockade and all the economic sanctions against Cuba and to establish diplomatic relationship with the Cuban republic.
And, I express our solidarity with Marshal General Raul Castro Ruz, a living legend of the Cuban revolution and a respected guardian of the global socialist movement, HE President Miguel Diaz Canel, the newly elected first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government of Cuba, Workers’ Central Union of Cuba (CTC), the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), the Cuban Institute for the Friendship of the People (ICAP), the Granma, the Cuban News Agency, the Prensa Latina, along with all the institutions which are driving the anti-imperialist movement to a new height; and all the workers, peasants and revolutionary people of Cuba.
From the land of the Mount Everest, on behalf of the people of Nepal – who were never ever had been defeated by the colonial forces in history, I want to assure all the Cuban brothers and sisters that you are not alone. We, the revolutionary people of Nepal, are always with you in all of your struggles because we have the same goal to achieve and the same enemy to defeat.
