Kathmandu. The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has expressed serious concern over the recent military action carried out by the Trump administration of the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, strongly condemning the use of force against a sovereign nation.
In an official statement issued by the party’s Central Office, the NCP said that any military attack on a sovereign country constitutes a blatant violation of international laws, the Charter of the United Nations, and the fundamental principles of world peace. Such actions, the statement warned, pose a serious risk of pushing the world toward instability and broader conflict.
Condemnation of Interference in Venezuelan Sovereignty
The party strongly criticized the attempt by the United States to detain Venezuela’s constitutionally elected president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, describing it as an act resembling abduction and a grave interference in the sovereign rights of the Venezuelan people.
According to the statement, such actions are completely unacceptable under democratic norms, international standards, and the principles of a civilized global order. The Nepali Communist Party demanded the immediate and unconditional release of President Maduro, reaffirming that the Venezuelan people alone have the sovereign right to determine their political, economic, and social future.
Opposition to Imperialism and Neo-Colonialism
Reiterating its long-standing political position, the NCP stated that it has consistently opposed imperialism and all forms of neo-colonial intervention. The party called upon peace-loving forces across the world, progressive movements of oppressed nations, classes, and communities, and sovereign states committed to independence to unite in solidarity with the people of Venezuela.
Appeal to the International Community
The statement further urged the international community, including the United Nations, to take effective and immediate initiatives to halt all forms of military action and political interference against Venezuela.
Concluding the statement, the Nepali Communist Party emphasized that respect for sovereignty, non-intervention, and peaceful coexistence are essential foundations for international stability and justice.
The statement was signed by Ganeshman Pun on behalf of the Central Office of the Nepali Communist Party.
