Kathmandu. Influential peasant organizations affiliated with six communist parties of Nepal have strongly condemned and denounced the military aggression carried out by U.S. imperialism against Venezuela in blatant violation of international law, as well as the illegal and morally reprehensible abduction of the constitutionally elected President, Nicolás Maduro Moros.
Six peasant organizations that have long been working in close coordination stated, in a joint press statement issued today, that this heinous attack constitutes a grave violation of international laws, the Charter of the United Nations, and the fundamental principles of national sovereignty and political independence of a free nation and a sovereign people. They further asserted that the act represents a continuation of the long-standing conspiracy of U.S. imperialism aimed at subjugating independent nations under imperialist domination, plundering their natural resources, and destroying socialist revolutions.
In a statement issued with the collective signatures of the presidents of the All Nepal Peasants Federation (Revolutionary Centre), All Nepal Peasants Federation (ANPFa), All Nepal Peasants Federation (APFA), Revolutionary Peasants Federation Nepal, All Nepal Progressive Peasants Union, and the All Nepal Progressive Peasants Association, the peasant organizations concluded that the attack on Venezuela constitutes an attack on the global working class and peasantry.
The statement demands the immediate and unconditional release of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros; full respect for Venezuela’s sovereignty; an end of all military, political, and economic aggressions against the country; the withdrawal of all unilateral, coercive sanctions and blockades imposed on the Venezuelan people; and the holding of the planners and perpetrators of these acts accountable before international forums and the court of world public opinion.
The peasant organizations further called upon revolutionary, socialist, democratic, and anti-imperialist forces across the world to engage in a united struggle against U.S. imperialism and to firmly support the Venezuelan people and their constitutional government. They emphasized that history has repeatedly demonstrated that imperialism can be defeated when the oppressed are united with revolutionary determination.
The statement also affirmed that Nepali peasants stand shoulder to shoulder with the workers and peasants of Venezuela, asserting that no reactionary force can suppress the will for freedom of a people striving for liberation.
Full Text of the Joint Press Statement by Six Peasant Organizations (Translated):
We, the peasant organizations affiliated with six communist parties of Nepal, strongly condemn and denounce the blatant attack carried out by U.S. imperialism against the sovereignty of Venezuela in violation of international laws, as well as the illegal and morally reprehensible abduction of the constitutionally elected President, Nicolás Maduro Moros. This heinous act constitutes a grave violation of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and the fundamental principles of national sovereignty and political independence of a free nation and a sovereign people. It represents a continuation of the long-term conspiracy pursued by U.S. imperialism to subjugate independent nations under imperialist domination, plunder their natural resources, and dismantle socialist revolutions.
The Bolivarian Revolution, rooted in the aspirations of peasants, workers, Indigenous peoples, and oppressed masses, has become a beacon of hope and resistance for exploited, oppressed, and working people across the world. Despite numerous conspiracies and underhanded tactics, Western imperialist forces—having failed to defeat it through periodic elections and democratic processes—resorted to economic blockades, political violence, and the use of mercenaries against Venezuela. After all such conspiracies were crushed by the courageous and revolutionary Venezuelan people, these forces have now turned to acts of illegal intervention and abduction, adopting the excesses of colonial domination and fascist terror.
Representing and leading Nepali peasants—who constitute nearly two-thirds of the country’s population and who themselves suffer under feudal exploitation, comprador bureaucratic capitalism, and imperialist intervention—we, the peasant organizations, regard this aggression as an attack on all anti-imperialist, socialist, and progressive movements worldwide. Concluding that the attack on Venezuela is an attack on the global working class and peasantry, we put forward the following demands:
1. President Nicolás Maduro Moros must be released immediately and unconditionally.
2. All military, political, and economic attacks against Venezuela must be brought to an end, with full respect for Venezuela’s sovereignty.
3. All unilateral, coercive sanctions and blockades imposed on the Venezuelan people must be lifted.
4. The planners and perpetrators of this crime must be held accountable before international forums and the court of world public opinion.
We call upon revolutionary, socialist, democratic, and anti-imperialist forces across the world to rise in united struggle against U.S. imperialism and to firmly support the Venezuelan people and their constitutional government. History has repeatedly proven that imperialism can be defeated when the oppressed unite with revolutionary determination. Nepali peasants stand shoulder to shoulder with the workers and peasants of Venezuela; no reactionary force can suppress the will for freedom of a people striving for liberation.
Down with U.S. imperialism.
Long live proletarian internationalism.
Victory to the Bolivarian Revolution.
With hearty revolutionary greetings,
