Kathmandu. Comrade Agni Prasad Sapkota ‘Kanchan,’ the Vice Chairman and spokesperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), has said that peasants, workers, and squatters are the fundamental classes of his party and the revolution, and the party has been continuously raising its voice for their rights and interests.

Addressing a meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Class Organisation Coordination Committee (Cluster) held today at the party’s central office in Paris Danda, party Vice Chairman Sapkota, who is also a former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament, expressed these views.

Presenting the view that the CPN (Maoist Centre) is continuously raising its voice for the rights and interests of peasants, workers, and squatters, he said, “Since peasants, workers, and squatters are the fundamental classes of our party and the revolution, the All Nepal Peasants’ Federation (Revolutionary Centre), the All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF), and the All Nepal Squatters’ Association, which lead them, are the most important organisations of our party’s fundamental classes.”

Vice Chairman Sapkota, while briefing the coordination committee meeting about the recent standing committee meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre), said that the standing committee meeting has established unprecedented unity within the party. He stated that the confusion among the general public caused by the debates and discussions within the party has been dispelled, and the party has now resolved to move forward with reinforced unity.

Vice Chairman Sapkota expressed the view that the time has now come for the party to take a new leap and move towards the socialist revolution, just as it took a progressive leap in the year 2000.

Under the Class Organization Coordination Committee (Cluster), which was formed after the historic Sixth meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the CPN (Maoist Centre), are the All Nepal Peasants’ Federation (Revolutionary Centre), the All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF), and the All Nepal Squatters’ Association. Comrade Agni Prasad Sapkota ‘Kanchan,’ the Vice Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), is the in-charge of the Class Organisation Coordination Committee, a central body of the party. The members of the committee are Comrade Sunil Kumar Manandhar, the faction in-charge of the All Nepal Peasants’ Federation (Revolutionary Centre); Comrade Ramdip Acharya, the faction in-charge of the All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF); and Comrade Nahendra Khadka, the faction in-charge of the All Nepal Squatters’ Association. Comrade Chitra Bahadur Shrestha, the Chairperson of the All Nepal Peasants’ Federation (Revolutionary Centre), and Comrade Amar Pariyar, the Chairperson of the All Nepal Squatters’ Association, were also present in the meeting.

Pointing out the need to initiate a struggle by connecting the party’s tactics with its strategy, encompassing the immediate and long-term demands of the fundamental classes, he directed the leaders of all three organisations to prepare for it and to strengthen their organisations based on innovation, modernisation, and factual data.

In the meeting, the in-charges and chairpersons of all three organisations reported on various topics, including the organisational status of their respective organisations, their political-ideological aspects, the problems of the classes and communities associated with their organisations and ways to solve them, and the preparations for a united front and struggle.

Addressing the issues raised in the meeting, Party Vice Chairman and coordinator of the committee, Comrade Sapkota, instructed the organisations to work resolutely for their construction, operation, and the rights and interests of the people. Chitra Bahadur Shrestha, the Chairperson of the All Nepal Peasants’ Federation (Revolutionary Centre), said that the meeting made important decisions regarding the mobilisation and strengthening of the peasants, workers, and squatters’ organisations.
